pixies in my garden
today i feel all whimsical and fun
like an old man in scarlet bathrobe
cigar in mouth, holding a large shotgun
i got pixies in my garden last night
ugly, red, and goddamn annoying
these creatures screech, inviting me to fight
wham! i shoot straight away
without a second thought
one, two, ten of them I slay
proud, proud in the moment i was
until i realized, for each one i blast,
from its ashes, a dozen more rose
every passing hour they multiplied
uprooted the garden, broke into my house,
and then they try to take over my mind
a stroke of wisdom hit, and i gave in
instead of fighting these slimy monsters
i decided to fight the urge within
i stood there, facing them with all my grit
without lifting a finger, i waited until dawn
and eventually… they did quit
patience, they came to test and i passed
my gardens and house will fix themselves
but am happy to have a cooler head at last
Chickenpox. I have had chickenpox for the past couple of weeks. I’m all better now, thanks.
Until next week,
Aachman
